The Richardson's Adventures

Our holiday to Western Australia was initiated from the idea of taking our boys on a extended holiday prior to starting school. We have been camping in tent's, and more recently we had a camper trailer for 3 years. While the camper trailer served us well ( over 30 camping trips ), we have upgraded to our off road caravan. The caravan makes life easier for the overnight stay, quick pack up, and it also has air conditioning. Our holidays have been booked for 2 1/2 years and we have been planning in some sort of fashion since. We have upgraded the car to give hassle free motoring, not to mention the great V8 rumble.

Stokes Inlet

Stokes Inlet picnic ground
We have spent the last three days and two nights at the Stokes Inlet National Park.  It was devastated by fires two years ago and has been refurbished.  The facilities and campgrounds look near new.

Bike Ride
On our second morning, we rode through the bike track/walking track, which was approximately 3.5kms and we headed for the day campers area.  We packed our morning tea and headed off.  When we arrived at the day campers area we rode along the beach front where the four wheel drive tracks where.  Then light spits of rain started, and we decided to head back only to just make it back to the day campers kitchen area to take cover.  It poured -  all of five minutes then the sky cleared.

Fishing
We tried fishing both afternoons.  The first afternoon Jacob did his first casting of the fishing rod and caught Mum's butt!  OUCH!!  We didn't catch another thing.

Fetching
Our second afternoon was just as unsuccessful with our fishing attempts, with Steven casting out, only to  get snagged on a rock.

Relaxing
