The Richardson's Adventures

Our holiday to Western Australia was initiated from the idea of taking our boys on a extended holiday prior to starting school. We have been camping in tent's, and more recently we had a camper trailer for 3 years. While the camper trailer served us well ( over 30 camping trips ), we have upgraded to our off road caravan. The caravan makes life easier for the overnight stay, quick pack up, and it also has air conditioning. Our holidays have been booked for 2 1/2 years and we have been planning in some sort of fashion since. We have upgraded the car to give hassle free motoring, not to mention the great V8 rumble.

Brusselton 18th May

Waiting for the train
The boys are eagerly awaiting the train to arrive.  We are about to board Busselton's famous 1.841km train ride to the end of the jetty where we will endeavour to explore there underwater observatory.

Busselton's famous train ride
The jetty was only refurbished in February of this year at a cost of ~ 27million.  It is the longest jetty in the Southern hemisphere and the third longest jetty in the world.

Toot Toot
The boys had to be as close to the driver as possible.

                                         Drivers seat
The train driver, John, took to the boys and allowed them to individually sit in the drivers seat and toot the BIG air horn.  Then we were able to take as many photos as possible.

Underwater observatory
At the end of the Brusselton jetty, there is an 8 metre underwater observatory.  The boys had a fantastic time experiencing all the wonders of the underwater observatory.   At the waters surface and as we descend to the first level of underwater, Jacob looked up and stated, "it looks like glitter".

Fishing
Pop will be happy with his little grandson reeling in the big one.  Or should I say, as we cast, Zachary is quick to reel in the line.

Last cast for the day
The whole day was spent exploring this jetty, with only the boys going back for a day rest.  We ventured back in the afternoon with their rods for a fish.  Spaghetti bolognese for dinner, Oh well!

Western sunset
A perfect ending to a great day.
