The Richardson's Adventures

Our holiday to Western Australia was initiated from the idea of taking our boys on a extended holiday prior to starting school. We have been camping in tent's, and more recently we had a camper trailer for 3 years. While the camper trailer served us well ( over 30 camping trips ), we have upgraded to our off road caravan. The caravan makes life easier for the overnight stay, quick pack up, and it also has air conditioning. Our holidays have been booked for 2 1/2 years and we have been planning in some sort of fashion since. We have upgraded the car to give hassle free motoring, not to mention the great V8 rumble.

Valley of the Giants

Wilderness Discovery Centre "Valley of the Giants"
Today we travelled from Albany past  Denmark and into Walpole to set our camp up.  We then travelled back into the Walpole - Nornalup National Park to visit the Valley of the Giants.

The Tree Top Walk

Jacob, Steven & Zachary
One of the three sites on the Tree Top Walk soars 40 metres from the forest floor to the tingle canopy.  A true perspective of "A birds eye view".

Driving Dad home after a big night
In the earlier years of tourism, this giant tree was photographed with people reversing there cars into the base of the giant tree.  Over time this compacted the soil (the Giant Trees have a shallow root system) killing this very tree.  The Giants narrowly escaped the 70's logging and now is protected in the Walpole - Nornalup National Park.

Franklin River system
The commencement of the WA Franklin river system starts at Broomehill.

Circular Pool
The name circular pool derives not from the shape of the two pools, but by the currents which flow in circles, creating moving circular patterns with the foam they create.

Goodnight all!
